Strapping
Common strapping materials include steel, polypropylene (PP), and polyester (PET), each chosen based on strength requirements, cost, and application. Steel straps offer high tensile strength for heavy loads, while plastic straps provide flexibility and corrosion resistance for lighter packages.
Low Table Semi-auto Strapping Machine
A Low Table Semi-Automatic Strapping Machine is a specialized packaging unit engineered primarily for securing heavy, bulky, or exceptionally tall packages. Unlike standard strapping machines that sit at waist height, this variant features a significantly lowered working platform to reduce the physical effort required to lift heavy items onto the machine.
Features & Characteristics
- Low-Table Design: Engineered with a lower height to reduce worker fatigue and strain when maneuvering bulky packages, as heavy items can be slid directly onto the platform rather than lifted.
- Automatic Functionality: Even though it is “semi-auto,” the machine automatically handles the most demanding tasks: tensioning, heat-sealing, and cutting the strap with a single touch or insertion.
- Adjustable Tension & High Speed: Features external tension control (typically \(5-60\) kgs) to ensure security for different package types, while operating quickly, often completing a cycle in less than \(1.5\) seconds.
- Robust & Durable Construction: Features a sturdy structure, often with a stainless steel top plate to prevent rust, making it suitable for industrial environments.
- Energy-Saving & Maintenance: Equipped with a motor that stops automatically when not in use to save energy (usually within 60 seconds), and a, simple, easily accessible PCB system for maintenance.
- Versatile Strapping: Compatible with standard PP (polypropylene) straps, usually in widths of \(5-15\text{mm}\), with some models featuring easy-load strap dispensers.
Applications & Usage
- Setup & Power On: Ensure the machine is plugged in and turn on the main power. Let it heat up for roughly 1-2 minutes.
- Position Package: Place the item on the stainless steel table.
- Feed Strap: Wrap the strap around the package and insert the strap end into the sealing sensor on the table surface.
- Auto Action: The machine will automatically pull the strap to the preset tension, heat-seal it, cut it, and feed the next strap length for the next cycle.
- Adjust Tension: Use the external tension dial/knob to adjust the tensioning force (typically up to \(45\text{ kg}\)) based on the package fragility.
