Strapping

Common strapping materials include steel, polypropylene (PP), and polyester (PET), each chosen based on strength requirements, cost, and application. Steel straps offer high tensile strength for heavy loads, while plastic straps provide flexibility and corrosion resistance for lighter packages.

Strapping Rolls PET

Strapping Rolls PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) are high-strength, durable, and lightweight packaging materials used for securing and stabilizing goods during transportation and storage. Made from PET plastic, these rolls are environmentally friendly, recyclable, and resistant to moisture, chemicals, and UV rays, making them ideal for industrial and commercial applications. They are commonly used in pallet wrapping, bundling, and securing heavy loads, offering reliable tension and elasticity to prevent shifting and damage.

Features & Characteristics

  • Superior Strength & Tension: Resembles steel strapping in physical characteristics, capable of withstanding high tension (up to \(25\%\) higher than other plastic options) and providing equivalent break strengths for heavy-duty loads.
  • Low Elongation (Retained Tension): Features low elongation, meaning the strap won’t relax, even during package settlement, expansion, or contraction, ensuring lasting load stability.
  • Weather and UV Resistance: Highly resistant to UV rays, extreme temperatures (approx. \(-30^{\circ}\text{C}\) to \(+80^{\circ}\text{C}\)), and high humidity, making it suitable for long-term outdoor storage.
  • High Elasticity & Memory: Unlike steel, PET strap can retain tension, contracting if necessary, making it ideal for shipping loads that might shrink.
  • Safety and Handling: Lightweight (approximately \(1/6\) the weight of steel), easy to handle, and lacks sharp edges, reducing injury risk to hands and product damage.
  • Versatility & Convenience: Suitable for manual, battery, or automatic machines and can be sealed by heat or friction welding.
  • Material: Made from durable, eco-friendly polyethylene terephthalate (PET), often from recycled materials, which is rust-free and corrosion-resistant.

Applications & Usage

  • Heavy Duty Packaging: Used for goods requiring high security, such as bricks, metal, timber, and glass.
  • Palletizing & Unitizing: Secures large or heavy loads on pallets to maintain stability during shipping and storage.
  • Corrugated & Textile Industries: Ideal for bundling large corrugated sheets or compressed textiles.
  • Alternative to Steel: Used in manual, battery-powered, or automatic machines as a safer, rust-free, and lighter alternative to steel banding.
