Strapping
Common strapping materials include steel, polypropylene (PP), and polyester (PET), each chosen based on strength requirements, cost, and application. Steel straps offer high tensile strength for heavy loads, while plastic straps provide flexibility and corrosion resistance for lighter packages.
Semi-auto Table Top Strapping Machine
A Semi-auto Table Top Strapping Machine is a specialized packaging unit designed to secure boxes, cartons, and bundles using plastic strapping (usually PP or PET). Unlike standard steel or painted strapping machines, its entire chassis and critical internal components are built from high-grade stainless steel (typically SUS304).
Features & Characteristics
- Corrosion Resistance: The body is built with 304-grade or high-grade stainless steel, which prevents rust and protects internal components in washdown environments, marine applications, or damp conditions.
- Semi-Automatic Operation: The cycle begins automatically (via foot pedal or push button) once you feed the strap into the machine slot, providing consistent, reliable seals.
- Adjustable Tension & Heat: Allows you to manually modify the strap tension (often between \(5\text{ kg}\) to \(60\text{ kg}\)) and welding/sealing time based on package weight and fragility.
- High Speed: Strapping cycles take anywhere from \(1.5\) to \(2.5\) seconds per strap, making it ideal for small-to-medium production lines.
- Broad Strap Compatibility: Generally accommodates polypropylene (PP) straps ranging from \(5\text{ mm}\) to \(15.5\text{ mm}\) in width, offering versatility for different box and carton sizes.
- Mobility & Convenience: Most units come with lockable caster wheels for easy movement across your warehouse floor, plus simple control panels.
Applications & Usage
- Load the Strap: Thread the PP strap (typically 6mm to 15.5mm wide) from the dispenser into the machine.
- Set the Parameters: Adjust the tension force (usually between 15kg to 45kg) and the heat-sealing temperature on the control panel.
- Position the Package: Place your package on the machine’s work surface.
- Feed and Seal: Manually loop the strap around the package and insert the loose end into the machine’s track or sensor. The machine will automatically pull the strap tight, thermally weld the ends together, cut the excess, and prepare the next loop for you.
